Kanop has won the €100,000 Product Track prize in the EUSPA CASSINI Challenges for its innovative AI-powered environmental monitoring platform. This recognition validates Kanop's mission to democratize access to environmental data and accelerate nature conservation efforts globally.
We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey. We have been selected as a winner in the EUSPA (EU Agency for the Space Programme) CASSINI Challenges, receiving the Product Track prize of €100,000 in recognition of our innovative use of EU Space data to promote a sustainable future. This recognition from EUSPA validates our team's hard work and dedication to bringing transparency to nature conservation and restoration initiatives worldwide.
At Kanop, we've developed a groundbreaking AI-powered SaaS platform that transforms how organizations monitor and report environmental impact. Our technology combines multispectral and multi-temporal optical and SAR imagery with state-of-the-art AI models to provide unprecedented insights into ecosystem health and biodiversity.
Our platform stands out through its innovative features. We achieve up to 10m resolution, surpassing industry standards and enabling detailed analysis of even smaller land parcels. Our unique ability to automatically recalibrate models using field measurements sets us apart, employing sophisticated Gaussian Processes to enhance accuracy without manual intervention. The system monitors diverse ecosystems including grasslands, agroforestry systems, tropical rainforests, temperate forests, wetlands, and mangroves.
This recognition from EUSPA comes at a crucial time. The UN has warned that reversing human destruction of the natural world requires $700 billion annually. Our solution addresses two critical challenges in this space.
In the Voluntary Carbon and Biodiversity Markets, Kanop addresses costly and time-consuming project measurement, monitoring and certification, a major barrier to scaling these markets. For Corporate Sustainability Reporting (CSR), we provide precise, efficient data solutions that help organizations with extensive land footprints —such as those in agriculture— accurately measure and report environmental impacts.
This award will accelerate our mission to democratize access to precise nature and climate data. We're currently focused on expanding our capabilities, particularly in biodiversity monitoring. Our roadmap includes developing advanced tree species identification models, enhancing biodiversity indicators, and expanding our coverage to impact 200 million hectares by 2028.
As we continue to evolve and expand our capabilities, we remain committed to our core mission: making environmental monitoring and reporting a fundamental part of global economic and social systems. This award from EUSPA reinforces our position as a leader in environmental technology and strengthens our ability to drive positive change in how organizations interact with and protect our natural world.
We're grateful to EUSPA for this recognition and to our incredible team for their dedication to innovation in service of environmental sustainability.
