Ecosia, the not-for-profit search engine, partners with Kanop to enhance monitoring of its global 200 million+ tree reforestation efforts using satellite data and AI. This ensures successful forest regrowth and boosts transparency, setting a new standard for sustainable nature monitoring.

We are excited to announce a partnership with Ecosia, the world's largest not-for-profit search engine. This collaboration will significantly boost Ecosia's ability to monitor and track the progress of its reforestation efforts across over 90,000 planting sites globally.

Since its founding in 2009, Ecosia has planted more than 200 million trees by reinvesting 100% of its profits into tree-planting programs. The search engine has been rigorously documenting and monitoring its planting sites through on-the-ground efforts. However, this new partnership with Kanop will take Ecosia's monitoring capabilities to new heights, by leveraging Kanop's API.

By tapping into Kanop's satellite data and AI-driven insights, Ecosia will have unprecedented access to information surrounding the health and growth of its reforestation sites. These detailed data will allow Ecosia to pinpoint areas requiring additional support or remediation, ensuring successful and sustainable forest regeneration.

This partnership represents a significant milestone in Ecosia's commitment to transparency and accountability within the reforestation sector. By embracing Kanop's cutting-edge technology, Ecosia aims to set a new standard for comprehensive and long-term reforestation monitoring.

"Overseeing the health and growth rate of all sites with over 200 million planted trees is a monumental challenge," said Pieter van Midwoud, Chief Tree Planting Officer of Ecosia. "With Kanop's provision of detailed data, we will get invaluable insight into tree health and the biodiversity of our planting sites, enabling us to pinpoint the exact areas needing additional support and further enhance successful restoration concepts."

This is another example of tree planting done right, and should be standard practice in the industry to ensure holistic reforestation efforts. We trust that our findings will motivate other corporations to prioritize biodiversity pledges, fostering a world where Earth's natural ecosystems are understood, protected, and integrated sustainably into tomorrow's economy and society.

By combining Ecosia's commitment to reforestation with Kanop's advanced satellite and AI capabilities, this partnership establishes a benchmark for openness, precision, and long-term sustainability in the reforestation sector. It paves the way for a future where corporations prioritize biodiversity and holistic environmental restoration, ensuring a greener and more sustainable planet for generations to come.
